Moon Base Lava Tube Design Challenge

YACademy’s Architecture for Outer Space Course

December 2023 – February 2024

Following the recent confirmation that numerous lava tubes have been located on the surface of the moon, scientists, engineers, and space enthusiasts believe they are the ideal habitat for future lunar missions. My group designed this lunar habitat for a crew of eight astronauts to inhabit for a period of three months before heading back to Earth upon the arrival of a new crew. I had the privilege of working with Audrey Chan, based in Singapore, and Paul Ventrice, based in Australia, for this design collaboration project.
